  • Led Institute’s international collaboration for global research projects, student outreach and partnerships;

  • Organized entire operation process of the project, including signing of 10 years collaboration agreement with US investors, selecting staff, developing study curriculum for Ukrainian MD/Nurses planning to immigrate to the USA to work as registered medical practitioners;
  • Led strategic development and negotiation efforts to expand operations resulting in the signing of 10 cooperation contracts with medical educational establishment and clinics throughout Ukraine;
  • Recruited more than 30 staff members including English instructors, English medical terminology instructors, managers;
  • Coordinated with a team to redesign and gain final approval of unique one-year retraining studying program designed for Ukrainian MD/Nurses;
  • Conjointly with US investors provided project’s financial management, with an approximate overall budget of $1.5 million;
  • Conducted outreach and presentations resulting in motivating over 300 MD and/or Nurses to join the project;
  • Collaborated daily with investors to provide them with ongoing feedback. Prepared and edited narrative reports for them.


Charitable Foundation “BLAGOMED” – Kiev, Ukraine

Director (07/2006-01/2008)

  • Liaised with German charitable foundation and Ukrainian office of the Eurasia Foundation for supplying our fund with used medical equipment, in-kind donation equivalent of $25,000;
  • Coordinated logistic of delivery of the medical equipment to Ukraine and worked with heads of 9 hospitals to control its distribution, based upon current needs;
  • Administered annual and activity related budgets and reports as well as received and disbursed revenue;
  • Authored $10,000 award winning competition proposal on education and dissemination of knowledge about healthy way of life among youth;
  • Implemented healthy living project conjointly with volunteered medical students including conducting seminars, distributing of brochures and leading media presentations;
  • Headed communications outreach such as writing direct mail letters, newsletters, brochures and press releases;
  • Wrote annual reports, grant proposals, newsletters, mission statements, media scripts and organizational speeches.

Boris Ivnyev – Rector 


Doctor of Medical Sciences, Member of the Presidium of the Ukrainian Society of Neurosciences, Association of Psychotherapists and Psychoanalysts of Ukraine, European Association of Neuroscience, International Society of Hypnosis (ISH), Representative of Ukraine from APPU in the European Society of Hypnotherapy (ESH).

Prior to 2014, he was associated with Donetsk Medical University and held the positions of Assistant Professor, Professor, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and First Vice-Rector. At the end of 2014, he worked at the Department of Physiology, NMU. OO Bogomolets (Kyiv), since autumn 2015 – Acting Rector of the Kyiv Medical University, Rector, since 2018, has been appointed Rector of the Kyiv Medical University.

Completed foreign language courses (English) in 2018 at the Municipal Out-of-School Institution “First Kyiv State Foreign Language Courses” at B2 level (independent user with advanced level of knowledge).

In 2016, he completed the specialization cycle at KhMAPO with the title of doctor-specialist in the specialty “Medical Psychology”.

In 1991 he defended his dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Medical Sciences in the specialty 14.03.03 “Normal physiology” on the topic “Morphofunctional connections of the lumen with the limbic structures of the brain”, in 2001 he defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic: “Neurophysiological and physiological pathological (Alzheimer’s disease) brain aging. ” In 2006, he was awarded the academic title

Professor of the Department of Physiology.

He has individual membership in the following international organizations: Member of the European Society of Neurosciences, International Association of Alzheimer’s, Ukrainian Physiological Society, member of the Presidium of the Association of Psychiatrists and Psychoanalysts of Ukraine, member of the European Society of Hypnosis in Medicine (ESH in ESH) – ESH – ESH , member of the International Society of Hypnosis (ISH). Leading international and national expert in neurophysiology.

The main directions of scientific research: the range of professional and scientific activities are reflected in studies of the mechanisms of stem cells influence on cognitive and motor functions of the brain in ischemic disorders, studies of studies on clinical neurophysiology (especially the functioning of the brain in chronic pain). Scientific research is conducted jointly with the University of Verona (University of Verona, Hospital G.B. Rossi, Verona, Italy) and the University of Trento Trento University, Trento, Italy.

International scientific activity. Participated in an international research program: INTERNATIONAL, INTERDISCIPLINARY, INTERRELIGIOUS RESEARCH GROUP ON CONSCIOUSNESS STUDIES – a branch of UNESCO Chair in Bioethics and Human Rights, GDN Neurobioethics, at APRA – Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum, Roma, Italy.

Author of 215 scientific publications in foreign and national journals on problems of neurophysiology, psychiatry, 67 of them in professional journals, co-author of 5 monographs, 56 works are devoted to the organization of the pedagogical process. Author of 6 patents. For the past 3.5 years he has been consulting as a psychotherapist at the clinical base of the Kyiv Medical University “Peter and Paul Clinic” (Kyiv).

In 2002 he was awarded the diploma and prize of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine for his scientific monograph “Alzheimer’s Disease”. For his work on prevention and rehabilitation of addictions, he was awarded the medal “In memory of People’s Doctor of the USSR OR. Dovzhenko ». Professional activity has been repeatedly recognized by honorary diplomas of the National Medical Academy and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

Viktoriia Ostapenko – Director of the Institute of Medicine and Biomedicine Sciences

Viktoriia Ostapenko, Ph.D. in Medicine, the member of Ukrainian and European anesthesiologists association.

V.Ostapenko was born in Kharkiv region, graduated from KhMU in 1998, completed internship majoring in anesthesiology in 2000.

Subject field of the thesis «Microbiological grounds for the building-up principals of synthetic antibacterial medications aiming to avoid the formation of antibiotic resistance» in 2007.

Ms. Viktoriia is the author of 9 research papers and 2 patents of scientific inventions.

From 2007 till 2012 worked at the Department of Anesthesiology of KhMU as an Assistant Professor.

Since 2012 till now is a dual job – holder at the Department of Emergency Medicine, Orthopedics and Traumatology.

Currently V.Ostapenko is involved in practical consulting of district and regional hospitals to provide medical aid to the patients.
