Official policy for quality assurance and quality development is set out in the Educational Policy and Management, which is developed in accordance with MAC recommendations.
The purpose of the monitoring is to collect, process and disseminate unbiased information about the status of the system of internal quality assurance, as well as to use the received information for development of recommendations for improvement of this system at the DIMPH, to take managerial decisions on quality assurance and quality development.
The monitoring of the internal quality assurance system includes:
teaching materials, material and technical basis, regulatory framework, as well as human resourcing for educational activities
research activity, its effectiveness and implementation in the study process;
the results of study;
the results of passing KROK exam;
the level of students’ satisfaction with the quality of the study process;
the level of employment of the graduates;
assessment of the graduates’ professional competences by employers.
The internal monitoring of the quality of education is performed by DIMPH organizational units and individuals. The quality of education is controlled by performers within their official powers in the monitoring process (see the chart below).
The main stages of monitoring of the internal quality assurance system:
determining the goals and objectives, the monitoring methods and assessment criteria
development of guidelines for monitoring (drawing up a plan, determining the time frame, appointment of responsible persons, instruments);
carrying out monitoring;
self-analysis of the results of monitoring and preparation of the collected information about the quality of education at the University;
publishing the results of monitoring and the development of recommendations for improvement of the quality system.
The information sources for carrying out the internal monitoring of the quality of education are:
reports of the DIMPH structural subdivisions
reports of the departments on the activities for an academic year;
the results of the rating assessment of the teachers’ academic and research activity;
materials for certification of the educators;
the results of final control/exams and mid-term control of the students’ knowledge;
materials for licensing and accreditation of study programs;
the results of monitoring, reports, analytical notes, recommendations of stakeholders etc.
According to the results of the monitoring in the field of quality assurance in higher education we can determine the following:
effectiveness of students’ selection and admission;
the organization of the study process, teaching materials, information, material, technical and financial basis;
provision of the study process with an academic staff;
effectiveness of research and international activities;
obtaining the expected results in knowledge, skills and competences (intended learning outcomes) by students in the study process;
academic and creative achievements of students;
the graduates’ employment (the opportunities of the graduates for employment);
the students’ satisfaction with the study programs and teaching.
